Hahas, emo day today cause one of my good friends migrating so I won't be seeing him around in Singapore for I dunno how long... Went to see him off just now... Quite sad all la but then life goes on... Anyway, I chanced upon this story and I thought I'd share with everybody who reads the blog.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and begun to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded together in total agreement, "yes." The professor then pulled out two cans of beer from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
"I want you to recognise that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - your family, your friends, your favourite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like school, education, and your job.
The sand is everything else - the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,
"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Have fun with your friends. Take time to get medical check-ups. Take your girlfriend / boyfriend out to dinner. There will always be time to clean the house, and fix the disposal.
"Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and asked what the beer represented. The professor smiled.
"I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers."
I think that there's a lot in this story besides for being just another beer joke hahas. I think its important that family and friends come first and of course that everybody lead a happy, satisfying life la. With that said, and as this year is coming close to an end, I think I must thank and apologise to people before its too late (hahhas, owen can start singing his favourite song here xD ).
Sorry Jack for being a total a*$hole to you at times (ok la almost everyday hahahhas). But I must thank you for being such a great friend, putting up with all the crap that we all throw at you (but it's probably ok since the gaining sympathy part is more or less working hahahhas)
Sorry Devi for saying that your blog posts are lame. It's really cool and I'm glad that at least somebody updates the blog. And sorry again for not posting my secondary school pictures and breaking the chain hahhas. And thanks for all the effort on the blog and keeping the class together.
Sorry Owen for not designing course t-shirt. I only can draw when got mood and when I drawing random things. Can't draw specific designs one, I not very creative leh >.< But nvm, when you got idea I try draw next time.
Hmm... actually I can't really think of anybody else I really offended leh >.<
Either way I'm sorry for forgetting what happened and I'm sorry for doing/saying it >.<
Thanks to Galex, Geoff for being great people to hang out with. Need to get older faster then can go zouk legally with galex wahahas. I know how much you love to party baby hahhas. You know very well what you did on friday, the previous friday, the previous previous friday and so on :o Then need to get driving license faster also. Then can steal Geoff's evo 9 and zao far far hahhas. Or maybe kop rafe's bike... That one might be able to zao far far away even faster >.<
Thanks to everybody in the class for making this great class what it is.
And a big thanks to everybody who have been encouraging me to talk more often. I know I very quiet and always think that what I want to say is not important so I rather listen then to say anything. Sometimes, even when I see jack and galex or galex and whoever else arguing so passionately even though both sides hardly make any sense, I'll just sit there and watch show hahhas(I dunno but I think only galex will argue so much as to justify his opinion). And even if I say anything, I hope the randomness don't offend anybody hahas. Too much crap sometimes >.<
Whoa, lengthy post sia. Not only lenghty, very wordy also :o Tired to type anymore. For a slacker, this is like climbing mount everest so it's very big accomplishment already hahas.
Oh! And exams around the corner so....
Don't be like this loser and fill the jar with sand by wasting time away. To me, wasting time and doing nothing is more or less a hobby la so I dunno whether it's considered "wasting time" to be wasting time hahhas. Whoa, that sentence is so confusing I confuse myself :o Hahas, by the way, I was suppose to put my own picture but owen said his phone spoil so all the pictures lost then devi didn't keep my sleeping pics T.T so if anybody got my ugly sleeping pics pls help replace ;) or can send me then i edit myself >.<
Anyway, study hard, have fun and... and... drink lots of beer >.< Actually, don't drink beer la, it really tastes like crap. Only losers like geoff can stand the taste :p Okie, take care and enjoy the exam week =X
